The R142A runs on the 4 line only except when a planed service change re-routes one section of the 6 train to 149th St Hostos then both the re-routed 6 section and 4 will both use R142As. The 6 use to have R142As regularly as well before they were converted to R188s and the remaining ones were sent to the 4 line.
