here's some lore on why this train's so long: instead of a normal IEC consist (one locomotive + 2 coaches + cab car), this train ran 2 locomotives (x1 ProgressRail-rebuilt F59PHI-T4 & 1 F40PHL-3R), x9 coaches, and x1 cab car, they pulled this train for rush hour purposes, not just that but it was also a very busy weekend as many people were attending the riverside county fair in temecula that day
