whiimsically here!! This is not nearly my best, and I usually draw faces much better…however despite that, I’m pretty proud of this! I did use a reference, as lighting and shading are some of my weaknesses, however there was zero tracing involved and every brushstroke is mine entirely! As someone who (used to) rely heavily on tracing for practice and proportions, it’s great to see how far I’ve come. I definitely could have pushed the planes of the face a bit more, and define some features such as the eyes and ear, but overall I think it’s not too bad…the facial proportions are also, admittedly, quite a bit off in the lower section, but that wasn’t really my focus since it’s a lighting study so I’m okay with that, although I for sure want to work on it in the future. What do you guys think? I’m anxious to know ^^
