Something i also wanted to make for a while now As you have probably noticed as of right now, the only counter on the UI is the coins. That's because considering today's standards, everything else is quite redundant. Mario Wonder already removed Score and Time, and now it's time for the life system to go, as Wonder also got a way to cheese it through buying 99 1-UPs. HOWEVER, the game would contain a challenge mode in which you start with all 4 playable characters, who all have 5 lives at first, and 100 coins mean a 1-UP. If every character loses all of their lives, it's Game Over. The Score and Time system would be moved onto challenge modes too. You might be wondering why is the coin counter 3-digit. Since 1-UPs are gone in the main mode, the regular coins are repurposed as a currency to spend in Toad Shops, which are mostly for power-ups and alternative skins. This will be more noticable in future entries, but i'm also changing the ground system. Instead of tiles, the game would go in a more 3D Mario direction and have big chunks of ground with 1 or two textures to fill it, like in Angry Birds for example. As for the last major change, the run button is gone too. Like in Koopa's Revenge 2 and Sonic games, our character enters the speeding up state automatically, so we can leave the button we use for running to do the more important action, like throwing fireballs and carrying turnips! That's all for this entry. Pre-Super Mario 3D Land font vector by @LucasRises The Music by NerdisaBird
