"You've got a thirst for knowledge - that's very clear. Ambition lies in here. You won't admit it to yourself but you already think you could do well in this world." "What?" I whispered. This made NO sense. "No, but you're not quite right for Slytherin. Yes, yes, I know - RAVENCLAW!!!!!!!" The hat shouted this last word to the whole hall. I put it back on the stool and walked towards the table clapping the loudest. It was the one with blue and bronze tablecloth. I knew that this was Ravenclaw from the previous Sortings and Rose's lecture. Fay was the next to be Sorted and a few seconds later, she was declared a Ravenclaw too. I looked around the high table as countless others were sorted. There was a bloodthirsty-looking wizard at the very end of the table. He had pointed teeth and matted hair but what really made his appearance formidable was his eyes. They were green but were so dark they may as well have been black, yet they drew you as in as if they were headlights. Next to him was a tiny, balding wizard, who was standing on a pile of books. I was drawn back to reality by "Granger-Weasley Rose!" being called. She was promptly placed in Gryffindor. Then I went back to looking at the teachers: There was a dumpy witch with flyway hair; the woman who called us to the boats and a witch with a sleek, black ponytail. I was about to assess the last two teachers when I realised that the Sorting Hat hadn't called out any names for ages. A boy was sitting underneath the hat with a worried look on his face. The hat was looking ( as far as I could tell because it's a hat ) very confused. Eventually, it called out "SLYTHERIN!" Most people gasped instead of clapping. Confused, I looked around my peers. Was this supposed to happen? Professor McGonnagal seemed astounded too but kept her cool and clapped. "And with Albus Potter, the Sorting is over! I invite you to share our amazing food and then I have some start - of - term notices to give out!" There wasn't any food, though! I looked around and food miraculously appeared on the plates around me. The feast began!
