Hey guys! ^^ Hru? What's up? Idk 'bout but I'm very tired. :'D I made a Luck poster! I'm actually really happy with how this out came out. This is for the SDAS Art Critique Workshop. :> But if it doesn't get picked then oh well. It's still a cool poster! :D Also, PLEASE full screen. Scratch UTTERLY DESTROYED the quality. (Warning: This next part is explaining some things and a mild rant. Ya don't have to read it if ya don't want to.) - *clears throat* OK. Now, some of you know that I posted a WIP of this poster. Some of you in the comments mentioned about how similar this looked to SLL. I am here to explain that. Lemme be frank. I do not have any wish to copy @ItsXPert 's graphic novel, Seven Lost Lords, or any of the characters from it. It is her ideas and her creation. I want it to be that way. I don't wish to try to steal SLL or characters from SLL. I don't want to cause conflict. The two characters in this poster are Jackie and Spirit. They are both from a story of mine called Luck. I honestly haven't posted a ton about Luck, especially digital/colored drawings, so I can understand why this looks miss leading. I created Luck when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I had started to play around with it but (like most of my stories at the time) it eventually was just another idea that sat in my old notebooks. I had an idea but not much of a direction. I didn't know what to do with it. When I discovered SLL, it reminded me of Luck, so I decided to take a look at it again. When I went back through, I suddenly had a spark of motivation and an idea for what I wanted. (That's continued since January.) Now, a lot of things look like they're from the SLL universe. They're not. When I was 9, I had a very small phase of making hybrids. Jackie is one of those hybrids, called a Jazur. (A mix of cat, dog, jacklope, and some other random creatures.) She's not one of the creatures from SLL. (Also, there are other real animals in Luck while the SLL is only Aetyrim.) Another thing you're noticing is Spirit. Spirit looks a lot like Dukalis from SLL, I know. I wish He didn't but there's not a lot I can change about it. His color sceam has always been blue since the start so I'm not changing it. I will say, Spirit is in Luck for some very specific reasons, not just because I saw Dukalis and said "oh yeah, I need that in Luck". Jackie also has another condition that changes her other eye and gives her a mark. People probably might point out the mark and say that it was stolen but one, no, two, I can't tell you how many different OCs I've seen before with a very similar mark. It's a pretty common idea.
(continued) Honestly, Luck is based more off of a bunch of random things that I just kind of pulled together. (A random anime I don't even know the name of, stories my mother or missionary has told me, my own imaginative thoughts as a kid, spiritual beliefs, the Bible, my personality and growing up, ect.) The biggest inspo, is myself. I'm literally putting myself into Jackie. (My reactions, thoughts, feelings, werido-ness,ect) Another thing is, when I start posting Luck (eventually...) you guys will see, as the story goes on, that it's very different SLL. I've been recently doing chapter planning for every book/volume. Rn I'm at volume/book 6. There are 7 volumes/books. Another thing is that I usually just show you guys a lot of Jackie. Jackie is honestly the closest thing to SLL in all of Luck. I haven't show you guys much of the other characters or plot lines or anything like that. (I mean, I guess art dumps but some people don't like to sit and click through 100+ pics of sketch book art.) All this to say, I just don't want this to be confused with SLL or for people to think I'm trying to steal someone else's story. I also don't want the people who asked about it in my WIP to feel bad or targeted. I understand. You guys were generally curious and confused. You guys wanted to look out for me. I get it. I just want to explain this all in the kindest and clearest way that I can. If anyone still has questions, I am happy to answer them. - Wow. Anyways, this was a really fun poster to draw! ^^ (except for coloring and shading but that's besides the point) I can't tell you guys how much I love highlights and designing logos!! >:33 They're so fun to make!!! If you were able to identify what song the lyrics on the poster went to, you get brownie points. They're from a song called Time. (details mentioned in credits below) It's such a fun song and I love it so much! Also, I'm really proud of my rendering on this.
