Arguments • Lenin argues that "Bourgeois" historians perceive Jacobinsim as "a fall", in contrast historians closely aligned with the working class (therefore among them - the workers), view Jacobinism as one of the closet thing we've got the exclusion of the struggle of the oppressed class. • Lenin says that the Jacobins ¨weren't destined for complete victory" because France was surrounded by ¨backward¨ countries and because socialism could not have been achieved since they couldn't develop a nation with no banks etc. Summary Lenin's essay says that the (yes, oppressed) working class shouldn't fear Jacobinism because of the transfer of power is handed to the conscious revolutionary class, therefore, it's the "essence of Jacobinism". He's saying that Jacobinism is proto-socialism.
Credits I really like this essay! I read the essay on the Marxist Internet Archive (www.marxists.org). The image also comes from Marxist Internet Archive, so the credit goes there. I wrote the "main points" and "summary" here and in my notebook. I obviously don't take credit for the essay. Lenin wrote it, but it was translated to English. Extra I made a video on how the Jacobins are not proto-fascists, I "quoted" this essay. You can check it out on my YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@Phoebus-t1l) or my TikTok (@phoebushere). If you want, you can support me there! I only post on here because my dad sucks and doesn't let me have real social media :c
