As the stability of the United States continued to decline, Governor Greg Abbott watched the unfolding events with growing concern. While he was able to win his reelection quite comfortably, but the Democrats had won tons of seat in the state legislature, and James Talarico beat out Ken Paxton. With this Texas was becoming more unstable as political polarization worsened, leading to mass protests in major cities, and some clashes had broken out between extremist groups, leading to dozens of causalities, but now Greg Abbott would now take action. In a televised address, Governor Greg Abbott went live and announced that the State of Texas was now in a state of emergency, and the Texan National Guard was fully mobilized. The main goal of the National Guard was to secure the Texas Triangle, as it was the most populous and economically rich area. National Guard forces would be deployed to the major cities of Austin, San Antonio, Galveston, and Houston to secure the cities. Anyone who was trying to convince people to rise up would be arrested, and the Guard would try to deal with all extremist groups in the region. However an exception would be made with the Texan National Movement, which had grown in size since the 2026 midterm elections, now having tens of thousands of member and supporters, for now they were too large to deal with, so a deal was made with them. The TNM would back the Texan State Government, and in exchange their goals of Texan independence would be supported, as now even the Texan State Government had begun adopting these ideas. The TNM would accept this deal, and their supporters would support the Texan National Guard in securing the major cities.
