~ Flynt Sharpe ~ Flynt grew up in a house full of fighting. On nights when he couldn’t go to sleep because of it, he would tell stories to his sister and sing to her to help her calm down and keep her mind off the arguing. He saw how much it helped her relax and calm down, so he began to come up with amazing stories and tell them to anyone who would listen. One day when the arguing got so bad he went down there, and his parents got mad at him. But, they stopped arguing, which Flynt didn’t let go noticed. Any time they started to argue again, he would go down and they would change their yelling from each other to him. He hated getting yelled at, but he was glad they stopped arguing with each other. He started to take the blame for things that weren’t his fault, but he just would take the blame, not caring as long as others didn’t get in trouble and no one fought. He sometimes gets into trouble from his and others dumb ideas, but he always takes the blame. He hates when people argue, so he’s always trying to keep people happy.
~ Dakota Medved ~ Dakota is a runaway orphan. He had always heard the tales the other children told about the ferocious pirates, but he didn’t like how mean they could be. He had decided he wanted to be an explorer, and after deciding he couldn’t ever get there while he was stuck in an orphanage, he ran off when he turned 13. After a while of living in the woods and on the islands, he grew used to the wilderness, learning all the advantages and disadvantages of certain places, and becoming in tune with nature. One day, when he had been walking down a little inlet he saw a small injured bear on the beach. As he rushed over to help he heard a growl, and he stumbled and a mama bear attacked him, trying to protect her baby. Dakota never blamed the bear, but now he hides his scar with a red bandana because he is ashamed of his jaw. He grew used to learning to communicate with his jaw, being able to talk well all things considered, but he has to talk slowly and carefully or else it becomes a garbled mess. He loves to talk though, and sometimes he will go on a long rant that no one else will be able to understand except himself. Sometimes people lose their patience with him, but he understands.
