They were sent to the Wisbech and Upwell tramway to help out N. 127 ( Toby had no number and is not 127, deal with it. ) They were given a coach named Henrietta, and instantly became good friends. In 1935 Toby was sold to Crosby Coal, on Sodor. They couldn't leave Henrietta, so they took her with them. The same year Toby arrived, the NWR struck a deal with Crosby Coal, this stated that as long as Crosby Coal provided Coal for their engines, the NWR would provide repairs for theirs. N.1 and 2 were now showing their age, so Toby took over and managed the colliery fine. In 1950, Crosby Coal no longer needed Toby, as there were more Modern, and efficient locomotives out there. Toby and Henrietta remained in the shed until 1951, when a certain N.1 got into trouble with the police... I think you know the rest, don't you? Toby has their own sort of branchline that runs from Ffarquar, up to Ulfsted.
