The Verdict is an ancient cat living in The Place Of No Stars in my comic, False Stars. Once a living cat who committed great crimes during their life dies and ends up in its domain, it immediately strips them of their pride, forcing them to face the raw, unvarnished truth of their crimes for eternity. The Verdict was never a living cat and has always been. Many cats in the Dark Forest warn newcomers of The Verdict upon arrival. During the Black Moon, The Verdict does not actually rise to the living world. It only has power over the cats in the Dark Forest and does not wish to come in contact with the living. It does, however, still open the portal up, even after (spoiler) was trapped there. The Verdict is much taller and bigger than an average cat.
