(Fictional Chinafake) Space to Activate Try Me
I was scrolling through eBay one day to see if anything cool was for sale. After a while I found this, I had absolutely no idea what it was, I initially thought it was a Turbo Twist Robot but the box is completely different and the face is different. I obviously bought it because it was undiscovered. The "Try Me" function did not work when I got it, I thought it was just the button cell batteries being dead like on Galaxy Force robots. There were actually batteries already in it even though it was sealed and brand new, but they were very corroded. So it turns out that these come with batteries and the "Try Me" function was actually powered by them! Unlike Galaxy Force robots. Once I cleaned the corrosion and gave it new batteries it worked great! I was surprised to hear it play "Rock This Party" by Bob Sinclair, I'm not sure how they got away with using it since it's a very popular song and probably very copyrighted. The light programming it has is really cool and It's faster than the normal Turbo Twist Robot by a lot! These were exclusively sold in the United States, the only confirmed store these were sold at is dollar general (because of the dollar general price tag on the box) but they were likely sold in other various discount stores. I really like the design of this guy, the pupils are meant to be music discs, which is very creative! The mouth on it is actually just a sticker that covers the original one, the only modification to the mold was the Try Me button port. This was still produced by XiangShang but they were commissioned by PlayCreate to make it. Overall an awesome item, I wish these were more common!
