The parliament has passed the National crime act, giving police extensive powers to detain people for an indefinite amount of time. It also grants police the power to install surveillance equipment in people's homes and other public and private places to deter and prevent crime. It is also makes civilian organisations such as trade unions illegal. This allows police to deal with gang-related crime more efficiently. It also will be used to watch over the anti-monarchist movements that are growing in the UKAC.
