Hey guys another very long update that I spent like 2 hours (on off) on… Today I decided to ride Bee for the first time! I went to her pasture in early afternoon, as the forecast was predicting rain around 2:30pm. She was doing her mustang-ish activities, playing around.. etc. Except she gave a little buck before trotting up to me. I stepped into her pasture, haltered her and brought her to the wash bay. There I just quickly brushed her, cuz she was surprisingly not very dirty so yayyy! I grabbed her tack and tacked her up before heading to the outdoor arena I had set up with barrels. I haven’t ridden western in a while, or very much even, so today’s flatwork was all about taking the ropes back, and kinda getting my muscle memory back. After that, we did the barrels, first at the trot, for myself, and then at the canter. Bee was very very helpful with helping me (holy repetition) getting back into it, and defo took good care of me <3. She was super good, got her changes between barrels, and was very smooth on her turns. Towards the end of our ride, the sky started to go gray and big clouds came out. I hurriedly hopped off and untracked her before bringing her back to her stall. I filled up her haynet, then headed to the feed room to make her a bowl of feed with extra treats (apple + carrot). I brought it to her, and left her with it, then (not shown) once she was done, came back, cleaned up, and left. Overall super duper happy, proud, and just so much love for this amazing girl. <3
