~Lyrics~ This is a story about two children One who hid to be heard And another who ran to be remembered I present to you "Kid & Leveret" Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh-oh-oh Found in forgotten fields of flaxen I was the leveret in hiding Rowdy and rigorous, they reave and rally There where the houses once stood It used to be a kingdom for a foolish majesty Then he put his hands over his ears and welcomed entropy Came the undergrowth, overburdening before What is left is a hamlet and the wails of yore Found in forgotten fields of flaxen I was the leveret in hiding Rowdy and rigorous, they reave and rally There where the houses once stood Bam! Bam! Bam! Down the door and here I am Beyond the cranny, "Come hither, " says the feathered lady "Fare thee well to the hound that held your home" Foreboding, farther off we'll go Found in forgotten fields of flaxen I was the leveret in hiding (you were the leveret in hiding) Rowdy and rigorous, they reave and rally There where the houses once stood Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh-oh Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh-oh Her father was a doll maker He taught her how to weave one's movement The marionette who took the thread When the baron lost his head, oh A spider, a spinner, believe her, she's a mother A woe of many morns, amidst a storm She receives a knock on the door A sight of silver and locks of gold Kid among beast of metal and malice I was real and she was alone Bird among bears of bark and leaves Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh Oh, oh, oh (oh) Found in forgotten Bird among bears of bark and leaves Found in forgotten Bird among bears of bark and leaves Found in forgotten fields of flaxen I was the leveret (you were the leveret in hiding) You are the lover where the yarrow grows (rowdy and rigorous) I will be awakened, no longer I am puppeted (they rave and rally) String from your instrument (there where the houses once stood) Rather from her fingers, dearest though she was (found in forgotten) She never saw me silent (fields of flaxen) Silence, I won't go far, I promise (I was the leveret in hiding) Candles for a start, now here I am at my brightest (rowdy and rigorous) Win or wound me with a kiss (they reave and rally) Find me where the lark is (there where the houses once stood) Find me where the yarrow grows (found in forgotten) I will be awakened, no longer I am puppeted (fields of flaxen) String from your instrument (I was the leveret in hiding) Rather from her fingers, dearest though she was (rowdy and rigorous) She never saw me at my brightest (they reave and rally) However when that happens (there where the houses once stood) Let us wander (away, oh) Far from where we had once been strung I can see you, not for your eyes I can hear you've left me entwined Where do we go? We're running slow From the house! From the hills! To the fields! To the humming groves! (Ooh) Oh, oh-whoa
