It's time to play with Nick J- I mean Fox Kids Play! The block that is. Name History: The Fox Cubhouse (1994-2000) Fox Kids Play (2000-present) Block Broadcast Home History: Fox (1994-1998) Fox Kids Network/Fox Kids (1995-present) Short History: The Fox Cubhouse launched in 1994 as a block on Fox. Airing weekday mornings 6am to 9am, the block aired programming aimed at preschoolers, initially emphasizing acquired programming. The block expanded to the newly launched Fox Kids Network in 1995, airing 8am to 1pm every weekday morning. The next year in 1996 News Corp USA acquired Saban Entertainment that same year, turning the company into Fox Kids' production studio. Following Saban's acquisition by News Corp USA, The Fox Cubhouse began broadcasting more original/in-house shows. In 1998, The Fox Cubhouse block on Fox was replaced by the weekday morning version of the regular Fox Kids block, leaving only the Fox Kids Network/Fox Kids version of the block. The Fox Cubhouse was renamed to Fox Kids Play in 2000 in order to emphasize its connection to the Fox Kids channel. In 2001, AOL, Inc. (parent company of Stagecast) would merge with News Corp USA forming AOL News Corp. Fox Kids and Stagecast would merge their operations, forming Fox Kids-Stagecast. The next year in 2002, a full Fox Kids Play channel would launch in the United States. AOL News Corp's name was altered in 2008 to News Corp AOL. Stagecast was sold off during the reorganization with Fox Kids-Stagecast becoming Fox Kids, Inc. News Corp AOL later changed its name to Fox Media in 2013 as a way to emphasize its flagship assets which included the Fox Networks Group (which owns Fox Kids).
