I have never been asked this question about Kami before. But I have the feeling you all are wondering. If you take a look at the "aliases" section in Kami's wiki page, the first line of text says "Lizzie Vanichiz Kami"...This. Is. Kami's full name. The reason she wants to be referred to as Ms. Kami is because since she is some kinda creature in the form of a cat. Her tradition and society (of whatever Gods she is part of a community with) always has respect on their names. So they use Mr. and Ms. But then where does the "Cat" part in "Ms. Kami Cat" come from? It's a lie to make Kami's mobian form seem more harmless and less suspicious.
