Whilst this organism seems to be nearly alien to the world of Osmaris at first glance, further analysis reveals these peculiar dwellers to be distant descendants of the Biocata Forza, having advanced from their ascension into multicellularity into a curious lifeform reminiscent of ancient insects. Once freeliving plankton, innovation in their Miliscopic life cycle has lead to them becoming bigger, and more interesting. Perhaps the most notable aspect of the Hypofodiens is their life cycle. Their eggs are extremely hard, a nut of almost fecal dropping that will keep the larva in its cyst for a long time. When developed enough, the Hypofodien will emerge half-way from its cyst, long appendage used to drag itself to a burrow and keeping itself in. From there, it will act as a formidable predator for most of its lifetime, striking prey from the ground with it's long, heavy claw and building nutrients. After a certain point, the Hypofodien will exist its cell and enter the adult form to find a mate. It's light size makes the heavy claw unusable after entering adulthood, where they will lose their nutrients and die after laying a batch of eggs. Hypofodiens are typically carnivorous, eating Vermicleans and Peukartyotes when approached.
