I love airfryers my mom constantly makes me feel bad about the fact I don't want to be with her on the day of my birthday. because it's soooo hard to make your son feel like they have a choice. if I EVER chose to be with her on my birthday, it would be PITY, and because she made me feel bad about it. but that's not how any mom should make her son feel, right? .... the plan for my birthday was to be with my dad. but unfortunately my mom just wants to be a crybaby about it? not even an hour ago she asked me what the plan was for my birthday. I tell her I'm going with my dad to [place i'm not saying]. she gets all upset that it's not with her and starts to make me feel bad because of this. even after I tell her that we were going to hang out on my birthday regardless of what I decide. she acts all bitter the entire car ride to school. freaking let it go. let me make decisions for MYSELF without making me feel like a bad person. it isn't that big of a deal. like my dad can actually handle stuff like a mature adult. the other day he told me he wouldn't let me go with my friend to something. alright, that's fine. later he comes to tell me I should be able to make decisions by myself. that I should have a choice in things. he tells me that even though he wants me to come and spend time with the family, he isn't going to make me feel bad for wanting to hang out with my friend. THIS is the correct response. my mom knows who I am. she knows I'm going to feel bad. and she uses my feelings against me. i'm tired of it. i'm tired of the guilt tripping. I'm tired of you making me feel like I did something wrong because of what I want to do for MY birthday. it's because of you that I don't even care for my birthday anymore. YOU are the root of so many of my problems. YOU are not an adult. you're acting like a CHILD. and it's not only this. there's so many other things that make me feel this way. god, there's a list that goes on and on. and listen, she's allowed to be upset! I know! but making me feel bad is not the correct response to this. and she knows that. maybe instead of doing that, we can talk it out instead of you acting like a child. it's embarrassing, really. or maybe i'm being selfish. maybe i'm being dramatic. maybe I really am just a bad person.
