The sister clade of Hypofodiens, evolving from the same basic ancestral plan of the Biota. Rather than evolve for burrowing, the Hyperfodien have fully embraced their status as free-flowing animals and surpassed their plankton roots. Known as the Pygmy Sea Dragons, Hyperfodiens are the first fully fledged multicellular Apex Predators to come to Osmaris, similar to Anomalocaris in the Cambrian Explosion. On those similarities...Hyperfodiens present an unusual lobed structure, separating their caudal fins from their frontal fins via an oscillating pattern of locomotion, giving them unparalleled flexibility in their range and, relatively speaking, putting them on par with fish. This is compared to Ocellata, who's structured, flapping fins make them nonflexible. Hyperfodiens are able to easily catch up to & capture their prey with tough mandibles & Maxillae, gnashing them into the ground until flayed and consumable. Long bandels sit both atop and below the body of the Hyperfodiens that are feeler appendages used to note vibrations in the earth, & find food. This makes their four eyes less important than expected, being simple compound eyes for checking the environment to the sides of them. Their feelers also act as a source for mates, with larger feelers typically being preferred for mating. Once fertilized, the female will broadcast thousands of its eggs across the current.
