A lot of people are extremely one sided, and I'm not saying they are wrong but the other side isn't either. Generative AI is awful and takes up SOOOO much energy, but regular artificial intelligence is actually fairly beneficial. It is able to do many helpful things, such as finding spelling errors on a paper, paraphrasing a text, organizing information, helping make song lyrics etc AI is a tool meant to enhance human creative expression, and should only be used as such, it must be used as an enhancement, not the base resource of an idea. For example, if I were to say to the AI, "HEY AI! WRITE ME A SONG ABOUT [A TOPIC]!!!" then that would be using it uncreatively, it MUST be used to build off of an idea. A good example would be "HEY AI!!! I'M WRITING A SONG! WHAT'S A WORD THAT RHYMES WITH PNEUMONOULTRAMICROSCOPICSILICOVOLCANICONIOSIS?" I'm using it solely as a tool and am mainly relying on my own abilities to create.
