okay, so i'm writing this book, its world/setting is based on MC/MC servers(no judgy, in my mind it makes sense) and the pacific northwest lowlands in the US. And one of the characters, currently called Ari, is from a server or whatever, and the people there have these like bird wings/bird traits, and i want server/people to be based-i feel like inspo is a better word for that- off the native americans there, so i need character making/writing/design advice on them and writing characters from other races. ari is like, 10, they like music, wilderness, and mythology. also they have 2 dads, no mom bc yee. also i chose those inpso pics bc they don't live in a modern world, and i wanted them to not have modern-looking things since that isn't what their world has. another question for ari, they're nb(nonbinary) technically. they just don't care what you call them, so is there any trial things for that? like I know this one tribe had stuff for trans people, but not much else
click space/tap screen to show ari ref/inspo images also, another character for this project, she was adopted by a mexican couple as a baby, and they named her. so i'm wondering if giving her a mexican name is alright then(please note this character is white), cause i don't wanna be offensive, so i ask. but i feel like it could be a good lore thing. the place they all end up in, it got rid of their memories of any family/who they were things. so this character, instead of chosing a new name like ari did, they end up remembering their name their parents gave them. which i want that moment to feel powerful bc this character(not ari, but adopted by mexicans one) she's anxious, has really bad anxiety, so i feel like she would worry over respectful stuff, like is it alright for her to particapate in things from mexican culture since she's white?(real question actually, if y'all don't think it is, i won't add it to the lore) is it okay for her to like those things since she was adopted by mexicans and grew up with that culture?? so yea, i feel like by the end, of the story, if its alright to have this be her lore, i want her to remember the spanish/mexican name her parents gave her(if it alright) so uh- yea, just is this okay/respectful, or not?
