So people have been spreading this myth that “black cats are being k!lled on Halloween”, but the thing is, cats are unfortunately k!lled everyday, and there is usually not an increase on Halloween. If people genuinely believed cats are bad luck, or are mentally ill, etc, they wouldn’t leave it for exclusively Halloween. Plus, we are not in “the olden days” anymore, and people don’t even believe that anymore. Just keep any pets inside on Halloween (and if your pet goes outside make sure the people around are respectful) due to the sheer amount of people on Halloween. So yes, this is a myth, please double check what you see online, especially on social media, see if they have any research links, google if the info is true, etc
BTW IM NOT SAYING IT CANT HAPPEN, JUST PLEASE KEEP YOUR PETS INSIDE YOUR HOME AND BE RESPONSIBLE. IF YOUR PET HAS BEEN INTENTIONALLY K!LLED ON HALLOWEEN, YOUR EXPERIENCE IS VALID. What I recommend is to check if your area is friendly to cats, since it’s not all black and white (if you are concerned)
