(Just felt compelled to actually map out infrastructure projects in greater detail before moving on to greater operations.) Canal Program: _____________ Water. Life and Industry simply cannot function without it. Be it for farming, nuclear plants, or just simple tap water. The rise in sea levels may be devastating for most nations, but West Poland sees opportunity. The changes in sea level inevitably means the bringing of massive changes to geography, environment, and even the flow and route of rivers. Perhaps even the formation of entirely new rivers, or the death of old ones. The technology and knowledge of this era means we can directly influence how these new rivers form, or outright create new ones. Thus major rivers dubbed "Feeding canals" are dug across the nation. Each one being 2-4 miles in width, and meant to move water to smaller canals that evenly distribute water across the nation. Though one major issue, is that almost all this water is coming from the salt water of the sea. To counter this, the mouths of these canals are covered by a large filter and salt processing facility, that thanks to nuclear power and constant maintenance, can boil the water to separate the water and salt, the salt going to the canal, salt being collected for sale. However experiments with cloud seeding and "weather influencing" programs are testing the possibility of canals start in the Silesian mountains with artificial rain storms, then flow out to sea. Though this is only in limited testing. There are some defensive bonuses as well. The canals are specifically build big and wide enough for small warships to travel through, designed to flood entire regions if needed, and of course act as obstacles to invading forces. _____________ Rail & Highway: _____________ I'll try to keep this simple(cuz character limit) But no promises. Logistics don't just exist in the realm of warfare. The economic benefits from just connecting two places to make travel faster & easier cannot be understated(plus allowing forces to rapidly respond to threats, and highways can be utilized as backup airfields if designed so) The mass construction of a dynamic system of railines, 2100's trains, and stations. And highways that feed into smaller roads shall have benefits to economic power already felt. _______________ Industrial Complex: _______________ "The Industrial Complex" is an area of land designated into an interconnected system of factories and facilities meant to support each other or other complexes in order to produce the final project. To elaborate, say a car factory. Cars need bolts, so you also need a bolt factory. Then you need windows, so you need a window factory, then you need tires, so you need rubber farms and tire processing facilities. The logistics to just producing one product are never simple. Something as simple as a child's toy can require manufactured goods from several factories, or even nations, all bought, and assembled together. Then those smaller parts themselves need refining facilities. This system is meant to bring these connections closer together, to where a screw factory can get metal directly from on-site warehouses supplied directly from mines/trade/stores, to build screws that then are shipped around the corner to the toy factory that needs them, or if needed, send some to a sister complex in support. Massive industrial zones are created, full of these complexes. Turning West Poland into a compact, highly organized, and brutally efficient industrial powerhouse that arguably can rival the superpowers of old. This is not to mention technological enhancements like self replicating machines and 3D printing... ____________________________________ Agriculture: _________ While the south becomes an Industrial powerhouse, the north is designated as the agriculture sector that'll feed itself and the rapidly industrializing south. Heavy standardization in farming practices, such as careful soil management, and regenerative farming. And a similar "Agricultural - Complex" system, where larger farms support smaller farms, providing each other with what they cannot produce themselves. Maximizing efficiency to not only feed themselves and the heavily populated/industrializing south, but to begin exporting food to other states. _______________ Nuclear Revolution: _______________ All of this would not be possible without nuclear energy. While humanity gave up on fission because of a few burns, the Husks are refining and sharpening the technology to greater heights. Nuclear plants spring up across the nation, powering the rapid industrialization, water processing, and simple civilian use energy. Every precaution is used for the record, including placing most plants underground for disaster containment, or defense from attack. __________
(Continuation) Underground and Under sea shenanigans: _________________________________ Pratum knows that having most its stuff on the surface, and its reliance on foreign trade is not a long term option. Resource independence and underground backups are a priority. Thus nuclear plants are built underground, cities have underground extensions with Industrial Complexes of their own. 15% of all resources shipped in are sent to reserve stores, underground farming facilities utilizing artificial lighting are under construction to both help increase agriculture efficiency and just in case of the worst. Advances in drilling technology go on, as mining operations seek to go down further than ever before in order to find new resource deposits. Even underground docks, shipping canals, and "ship elevators" that can bring ships directly to the canals for defense, or hold/build ships to send back out to sea if the enemy holds navel superiority. Similarly, undersea facilities are built on the flooded plains of far northern Poland and Germany. Ranging from defensive anti-shipping batteries, mining operations, and even the starts of new undersea settlements. __________ Mass Fortification Effort: ___________________ "The Basin Fort" is a less advanced version of the GW2 era Dominion "Domed Fortress" which I never got to show, though would have seriously disrupted the Caribbean's plan of taking "Lima" within a few days. Ill post a project on the defensive science, but I believe these fortresses will begin a similar revolution that the Star Fortress did. Especially in the age of automated warfare.... But related to this, is that all these infrastructure projects have defense in mind. Every building, every placement planned with the scenario of battle being fought over it. Along with homeland logistical advantages like "ammunition pipelines" ________ And this is only the beginning..... The more progress completed, the faster progress will move....
