The Artisan-class replenishment ship is a class of nuclear powered auxiliaries in production from 2018. They are the main oilers of the Aquillian Navy, with 20 being built. They are capable of carrying fuel, food, ammunition, water, and more items. Named after occupations, they are capable of resupplying entire carrier groups, and as a result these are often classified as “destroyer tenders”. They are also unique as they have specialized VLS cells for unloading missiles. They are planned to last for upwards of fifty years, and are highly modular. They replaced the aging 1950s-era Boxtruck-class oiler.
