i'm making a project about ai because there's a few things i want to say. i'm VIOLENTLY against ai, and i'm gonna tell you why. just give me a few paragraphs to express myself. a defense i often see ai enthusiasts bring up is that artists are just "talented people" with some kind of gift and they'll never understand how it feels to be on the other side. they justify themselves with honesty, jealousy, and even disability. they convince themselves they'll never be like "us." no one, and i mean NO ONE, started out a good artist. let's look at myself. i used to suck at art. on scratch, my first two years, i'd just remix other projects because i didn't have enough skill to really do stuff on my own. all of the things i thought about, all of the stuff i did, it was just based off of someone else's stuff. this pyro you're seeing here is from a project from August 10, 2023. the arms are stolen from someone else's fnf project. music's kinda sucky too. you can't really call any of this talent, can you? when i tried to make things myself, i'd end up hating and cringing at said things so much that i never even shared the projects and the images would haunt me randomly. they still do. but i didn't give, no matter how much i hated my art. i stayed on scratch, i kept making bad art, bad music, i kept taking inspiration, and felt less like i had to steal stuff to make content. i kept on trying, making it a hobby, because i love making art and i want to be good at it. i love to create and to have a community to share creations with. no matter how much it sucks. then i started to improve. every time i created again, it was better than the last. the next time, it's even better. even if just a little. and i kept on making until i could consider myself a pretty okay artist. i was not anybody worth mentioning before scratch. now, because i stayed and i tried, i'm good at it now. i was a beginner, and now i'm not. but that doesn't make me special. that just makes me persistent. now, with ai, people are free to skip the part of the process that has them struggle. and of course people would do that. to those who generate ai prompts and proudly proclaim it listen. we are not better than you. we are not special. we're just the ones who tried and tried and tried. you can too. anyone can. it's gonna take a while, but you WILL be satisfied someday. that i can guarantee. but hey, why would you when ai can make everything for you instantly, right? so go ahead. have your instant stealing machine. do whatever you want. i can't stop you. just don't blame us for sticking to what we've always had throughout history; the ability to try and fail and take it like a champ. and if you really want to support ai as "the future of art" instead of your very own magic you're no artist you're just a quitter for those like me who support real creativity, we're living in a world where it's so, so hard to be confidently bad at doing something. because instead of trying to improve oneself, one can just... generate anything they want. if you're one of those people who refuses to stoop so low like that, if you're consciously deciding to not take any shortcuts, thank you so much. thank you so, so much. we need people like you. please never change. please never budge. never break, never bend, never fold. i have utter and undying faith in you and your ability to try. don't let them belittle you for it. don't let them win. never.
