intro/activity; Hii we’re the Princette Palace, an OSDD system. We go by Priscilla/Katzchen & he/it collectively. I've been on DBD for a few months now, but part of the previous gwdfi/hive community that now makes up DBD for around four-five years. I’m in the EST/EDT timezone. I’m typically active between 4AM-11PM, but my sleep schedule fluctuates and can change day to day or week to week. My current activity on scratch is around a 6/10, but I have no prior engagements in school or work and can up that activity if I’m promoted. why do I want to be a manager?; From what I can see, DBD as a studio is quickly spiraling downhill. The sheer amount of drama & trolls is too much, especially considering the amount of managers (rightfully & with all due respect) stepping down recently. I want to help and assure that the same thing that happened in GWDFI doesn’t happen to DBD, as it’s a safe & loving place for many and to see it go would be deeply upsetting. what would managing involve?; - Actively moderating the studio. Enforcing rules to the best of your ability, mediating and/or deescalating discussion & argument, confronting any users that cause issues, and sending contact us messages if necessary. - Maintaining a positive relationship & interactions with studio members and positively interacting with the community. This includes responding to euphoria & sunshine requests. - Facilitating and accepting constructive criticism, improving both yourself and other managers with respectful critique. - Taking breaks when necessary & making sure you’re in a positive state of mind and capable of managing the studio and making clearheaded decisions before doing so. - Minor things like updating the description, thumbnail, and design delay! why do you think you’d be a good manager?; - Having prior experience managing the hive & other minor offsite leadership roles, I can skip a lot of the learning curve and may already have experience in new situations for the studio. - I consider myself skilled at problem solving & mediation between groups. I can nearly always see both sides of any issue. - My schedule is extremely flexible, I can be online whenever necessary. - I’m fairly detached from Scratch emotionally, so I don’t often make emotion-driven decisions and can view & discuss situations very logically. - I’m very organized. I usually keep docs & spreadsheets detailing situations, systems related to managing, screenshots, etc. which tends to be helpful in the long run. downsides/weaknesses as a manager; - My being a system often comes with large memory gaps, I struggle to be consistent with a lot of things and often doubt my own knowledge because I may have forgotten something. - I haven’t been active very long on DBD itself and might make more mistakes in relation to unsaid rules & generally how DBD operates than others would. - My being a hive manager may cause pushback. While I don’t think I’m very disliked in DBD personally, the managers as a whole are, and I’d understand if that isn’t something the current management team would want to deal with. - I’ve often been told I seem insensitive or blunt due to the way I approach certain situations & the aforementioned emotional detachment + lack of empathy. I’ve been working on this, but I haven’t had a chance to put it into practice, so I don’t know how much it's improved. suggestions for improving the studio; - I want to crack down on rule 1B more. I’ve seen a few people get warned for interacting with users under 1B purposefully, but others doing the same thing (or blatantly breaking any rule on purpose in general) and not being warned. I’d like to make sure this behavior stops and everyone is warned as necessary. - I want to try to stop or deescalate large scale “flame-wars” or generally bullying someone, like with copypastas that specifically target harmless users. While I don’t currently have any ideas on how to enact this besides just enforcing the rules & closing the studio quicker or disciplining the specific users involved (which can get confusing, as I’m sure a lot of people wouldn’t know it’s meant to make fun of someone when it’s such a large bandwagon), I want to brainstorm ways to make this stop. - Thumbnail games & general studio games! Pokebot, DBD plays oregon trail (or any other game), Thumbnail brackets, etc. I want to do these in general as I rarely see them happen (though I’m sure they do or have). I also want to facilitate cross-studio games like these between DBD and the Hive to lessen the perceived hatred between the two studios, but I’m less attached to that part of the idea. - Encouraging the use of the report button amongst curators. Any CG-breaking comment (including ones that are just rude) can be reported (and deleted) with only two reports, and I think inappropriate comments would be interacted with a lot less & be a lot less prominent if they were report-deleted quicker.
outro; Thanks so much for considering my application! Good luck to all other applicants :3 Please let me know if this isn't screen-reader friendly! I kind of had like way more written but I had to shorten it to fit in the instructions sobs
