This is the main character of my upcoming game, Irina(meaning peace according to Gemini). The name is ironic The game is gonna cover a traumatized war veteran coming back to her hometown. As she explores the place she once knew, she discovers that it’s all a figment of her imagination, a shaky defense mechanism of her mind to protect herself from the horrors of war. Horrors from the war start to infiltrate her mind and she has to journey to find peace. Eventually she finds that she cannot heal her mind on her own, and cannot end the atrocities of the world by her own power. “I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim, but I know Someone who can help me walk on water” The game will not be explicitly religious, but in the end will show that there is something out there that is loving, just, and all powerful; in which faith is beneficial. Evil is not permanent, and peace is always possible to attain. Evil will be represented by Slavic folklore’s creatures and water. The water is that of the Flood, which stemmed from man’s excessive evil and profaning of Good. The game will be set in a made up Slavic country, maybe a few decades ago. The story seems pleasant and utopic at the beginning(a happy, peaceful, quaint village in the forest), but will continue to be infiltrated by rising floods, monsters, war machines, and other evil seeming things The world will be similar to ours, but with the inclusion of slavic folklore. The world crawls with the supernatural, forming from man’s soul, and nature. The game will be a precision platformer/combat game where Irina travels through the land(and time), purging evil on the outside and within her. check out some more concept art here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1394413079/
