You can read along if you couldn't understand me lol: Hello guys, if we haven’t met yet I’m Spirit, and if we have, welcome back to my podcast. If you haven’t seen the first episode, it will be linked in the instructions* box. But anyways, I thought today I’ll talk about a few of my experiences I’ve had as an alterhuman. So, to start, I haven’t ever really been bullied that much, but I’m homeschooled and no one in my church knows I’m otherhearted. But I used to go to this homeschool program, and it was an outdoor thing so it was really fun. And I actually discovered my alterhumanity there. I remember when I made my first mask, and I had this nature-fort making class that was pretty small and most of the kids were younger than me, so I brought it. A few of the kids called me a furry, and told me to burn my mask, but most of them actually apologized later on, and I got the chance to tell them the difference between a therian and a furry. And I say a therian and a furry because I used to believe I was a therian, because I didn’t know a lot about the other alterhuman identities. But later on through research and reflection I discovered I was not a therian, but animalhearted. So anyways, after that the kids in that class accepted me and were pretty nice to me, So I guess you couldn’t really call that “bullying”, but that’s one of the closest experiences I have to it. Actually, the people who bully my the most about my identity, are probably my family. No body in my family accepts me, and it’s pretty hard when you feel like you’re all on your own. So I understand and sympathize with alterhumans who share this experience with me. But I know that God loves for who I am. So that helps. My parents aren’t really that bad, they don't really bully me that much, it’s mostly my three younger sisters. My mom is alright with the gear that I have, she thinks it’s a little weird, so I don't wear it that much. My dad doesn’t like it at all, and I don’t think he would ever throw it away or ruin it, but to be safe I keep it hidden away. Not to turn this into a vent, so sorry if it seemed that way. I have a few supporting friends though, even if I don’t get to see them that often since they don’t go to my church. But it’s still nice. Anyways, here’s another small story I just remembered. One time, at a different homeschool thing I wore my tail because it was around Halloween time. I said I was being a werewolf, but the kids there still thought it was a little weird. And jokingly called me a furry. Of course, I actually am a furry so when people call me that now I’m not really offended. But I’m not made fun of often, because, like I said, I’m not ever really brave enough to express myself. Another thing that makes this hard is having Scopophobia, the fear of being stared at or watched, so it’s basically my worst nightmare to be stared at by a bunch of kids and made fun of. But I’m thinking about trying public gearing more often, possibly at a renaissance fair or small park. So wish me luck on that :) Anyways, that’s pretty much it for this episode. Thank you for listening, and remember to be yourself no matter what anybody thinks. So basically be braver than me. See you guys later!
