So, there's a bunch of theories for why some characters have faces and others don't, but my personal theory is a mix of Victor Tanzig's theory of the faces being a reincarnation of actual people (hints me giving them last names), as well as the theory that no one knows why they have faces. Now, I don't know exactly how the faces work since there's like an inch between the front of the face and the smokebox door under it, and things are subject to change too, so keep that in mind
