"Mirror" A Grace Application (Wip) —————————————————————————— Username. @Silvery-Wings —————————————————————————— Kit you're applying for and why. I'm applying for Grace! First of all, I love that the design is simple but still interesting. Also the design and name reminded me of Grace from Project Hail Mary (an excellent book and movie, I recommend you read/watch it if you haven't!) and I love his character. Especially that he's clearly flawed, but still pulls through the situations he was thrown into and overcomes his biggest flaw in the end to save his friend. I aspire to create such a complex and beautiful character with the kit Grace. I won't make any changes! I love everything about Grace as they are! —————————————————————————— I have had many previous characters and 2, maybe 3 years of roleplaying experience in gens (3-4 yrs total). Previously I have had my beloved Midnightchill, sweet Hopepaw, lonely Lapislonging and most recently Lutestringlullaby (Lu hasn't been deleted from the mc storage yet). I got Lute, but then unfortunately went on an unplanned hiatus due to outside reasons. I missed his entire youth and never got to build his character so I wasn't very attached. I ended up deciding to delete him so that he wouldn't be wasted and so I could apply for a kit that I would actually roleplay with. —————————————————————————— Grace's future identity! Gracie will be male for a few moons until he realizes that he doesn't feel male. They'll be nonbinary for a bit, but with further exploration she'll realize that really she feels female near the end of her adolescence. She will be lesbian and demisexual. —————————————————————————— Personality! (My favorite part!!) Simple: [+] Easy going, decisive, witty, cheerful [=] observant, organized, chummy, chatty [-] apathetic, people pleaser, dishonest, selfish Detailed: At first glance, Grace is an easy going, chill, and friendly cat! She's easy to get along with and never pushes others' boundaries. She doesn't hesitate and always seems to know what she's doing and how to react which can be a great help in emergencies or social situations. Cece appears to have a neverending stream of humor and clever remarks. She does her best to always get the last word and loves engaging in friendly banter with just about anyone. Her bright and happy disposition attracts many cats as well. She's got a good eye for details, and spots things others might not notice. But that doesn't mean she acts on anything she notices. She simply observes and often chooses to stay out of others' businesses. Apart from that, she seems well put together. She always has what she needs and her nest stays immaculate compared to that of the other cats. She's got no sense of stranger danger and acts like she's your best friend even if you just met her. This can comfort or delight some cats but make others feel uncomfortable or suspicious of her. And Grace never shuts up. She loves to talk about anything and everything that comes to mind. It can get annoying at times but it's a good way to pass time. But just like the rest of us, Grace has some major flaws. First of all, if it's not directly affecting her: it's not her problem. She just doesn't care. And it's not even that she's malicious about it, she simply lacks sufficient empathy even when it comes to family and friends. This can cause huge problems in her relationships. Because of this, she tries to compensate by being as likeable as possible, even putting aside her opinions and emotions to prioritize those of others. It's definitely a problem and she often seems to perfectly reflect whoever she's hanging out with. This causes her relationships to be shallow and unfulfilling since she never shares her true thoughts and always agrees with the other. Something that's tied in with this is that she tells lies as easily as she breathes. They just slip out and while she does feel a little guilty later on, she never reveals the truth for fear of upsetting someone. This sets up for huge complications in her social life, especially when her lies start colliding and stacking up on each other. The entire time she'll just keep denying them and digging her hole deeper. She's also a pretty selfish cat, although it can be hard to spot initially. Since she's a people pleaser, it only shows up in small ways when she's with others. Like casually taking the bigger piece of prey and pretending to not notice. When she's alone, however, she does and takes whatever she wants without caring whether someone else deserves or needs it more than she does. As a child she is extra prone to throwing tantrums and cuddling up to parents in an attempt to be the favorite child and get the most attention. Overall, she's a generally likeable and not a cruel or intentionally malicious cat, but she definitely needs to find a way to keep her flaws in check if she wants to live a fulfilling life and have meaningful relationships with others.
