Thank you to @-Auron- for curating this! It means a lot! (Front-paged on May 7th!) Sequel coming eventually! -Use WASD or the arrow keys to move. -You can hold W/up to jump farther, and some platforms can be dropped through by pressing S/down. -Press space to conjure fire. Some obstacles, such as brambles, can be burned down by your fire. -Collect the pinecones! You will see your pinecone count when you collect a pinecone, or you can press C to view it at any time. -Some (most) of the pinecones can only be gotten by going through different areas, so don't be afraid to explore! You play as Aine, a spirit of fire and a guardian of the forest. Your task is to collect all of the pinecones mysteriously scattered throughout the woods and plant them somewhere else - after all, pine trees don't belong in this kind of forest. How did they even get here in the first place? If you're wondering why you have to use your fire on the pinecones at the end, it's because of the way some pinecones work. Pinecones have a resin that is broken down by fire, allowing the pinecone to open and the seeds to grow. This is so that the pine trees can grow back after forest fires. (Forest fires can actually be really beneficial to forest ecosystems - it helps renew them and remove debris) All jumps that are supposed to be possible are possible. I've tested the game many times. If you really can't make it, then it might be something you're not supposed to do. Try a different approach! You can do it! Here, I'll give you a hint if you're really having trouble: the tree trunks are irrelevant. Don't let them fool you. And there are several cones you have to get by climbing in the treetops. (Just keep going right, you'll find the way up eventually!) If you've gotten this far down, then... I dunno, tell me your favourite... something. Yeah. Go comment your favourite (or favourites, if you're indecisive like me) of anything!
Thank you to @griffpatch_tutor for making that platformer tutorial! (It really helped with the controls) Sounds via google search. Autumn background music from here: https://youtu.be/Jupu-Jih0ww Winter background music from here: https://youtu.be/rsr1YFvtqEE All art and other code by me. (Seriously, this took forever. So many trees...) Update Log: February/11/2017: Shared! (Finally!) (Wow Scratch's time zone is way off why isn't there a setting to change that geez) February/12/2017: Fixed a glitch that made Aine go to the top of the screen when entering a certain area. Added some extra platforms in the area before the end. Added a few hidden platforms in the winter area. Added a sound when you press space in the end scene. April/22/2017: Added note about sequel. AAAAAAAHH curated for front page by Fixed fire lag issues (now the fire has to disappear before you can conjure it again). Wow. I spent a lot longer on this than I was originally going to. Geez. This was just supposed to be a doodle, not a full game! I have no self-control... Well, I hope you enjoy! This is the game I've spent the most time and effort on to date (that date being February 12th, 2017). Fun fact: in one of the earlier versions of this game, it was composed of the first three areas and kept looping forever, which was really interesting. That gives me an idea... but that will (probably) come later. And if you've made it this far down, why not comment a pun? Puns are good. I like puns. They get me /fired up!/ :D Okay, that was terrible. But maybe you can think of a better one! ;D Metaphorical bonus points if you're using Firefox, because really, you've managed to pun yourself and that's fantastic. I'm proud of you.
