SUBJECT: English - Vocabulary - Sight Words GRADE: 1 PURPOSE: Practice identifying the word "see" SKILLS REQUIRED: ability to identify letters of the alphabet, especially "s" and "e" __________________________________________ DESCRIPTION: The lesson starts with a visual representation of the word "see" followed by the written word and the word spelled, with narration. There is a demonstration showing the pointer moving and clicking on a sweet with "see." With this demonstration, the student does not need to be able to read the English instructions to play the game. When the student clicks on a sweet with the word "see," it says Correct (in Sesotho) and the sweet turns to a solid color. The student must find and click on all 7 of the sweets with the word "see." If the student clicks on an incorrect word, it will say Incorrect (in Sesotho), the sweet turns black, is X-ed out, then disappears. When the student finds all 7 of the correct sweets, it will hide the other sweets and display the words "Very Good," which grows in size. This is followed by the blue "See" character eating all the sweets.
