- Top Loved: 25-30 October 2015 - Curated: 24 October 2015 As today is September 1st, while I was going through my Twitter feed, the trending #BackToHogwarts caught my eye and brought back a wave of nostalgia to the times when I'd wish I could hop on the Hogwarts Express bound for Hogwarts instead of attending high school. I subsequently decided to upload this project which was actually fully completed nearly two years ago and left unshared. That being said, there are numerous other fully or semi completed mini projects of this kind that should be released soon. As you can probably guess, a popular facet of the Harry Potter franchise is the subject of this informative and interactive product (the seventh in its series). "Hogwarts Express" enables you to view the history of the assembly and acquirement of the iconic locomotive that traverses the British countryside between King's Cross and Hogsmeade Station. If you are unfamiliar with either of these locations, you can check out the "Marauder's Map": http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/13387327/ The description will give you the train's specifications, the structure of carriages and much more. Moreover, there is a gallery consisting of seven images of events concerning the steam engine from the films. On the menu screen, a brief introduction to the Hogwarts Express can also be seen by placing the cursor in the top half of the screen. As is the case with the previous releases in this educational HP series, music by the wizard rock (wrock) band Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls plays in the background. This track ("Train to Nowhere") is one personal favourite of mine and I thought the metaphorical train that the song alludes to nicely complements the palpable train that transports Harry, Ron and Hermione to Hogwarts and back. Why not make that heart at the bottom of this project match with the colour of the Hogwarts Express? Just a thought...
