This cat is Brookefur. She is my favorite OC. She is part of a book series I'm writing. Scroll down to see the prolouge of the first story. Cats were leaving the camp. The full moon sparkled down on every cat’s pelt. The apprentices were chatting excitedly. this was their first time going to a gathering An ear-splitting howl stopped the chatter of the cats. “Owlstar! The wolves! They’re back!” One cat yelled. Owlstar’s heart began to pound. “Everyone go to the moor! Sunstrike, come with me to get everyone out of camp!” What am I leading my clan into? Sunstrike nodded as Owlstar gave his order. The wolves were getting closer. Their scent was coming from the abandoned twoleg nest by the border. Owlstar ran with his friend by his side to the camp. They broke through the bramble tunnel that led into camp. “The wolves are coming! Everyone head for the moor!” “What about our kits? They haven’t even opened their eyes yet!” Owlstar spun around to see his mate, Fernswallow. “It’s ok. Some of the fastest warriors can carry them.” Owlstar meowed, his voice filled with fear. He led the cats out of the camp. Some of the warriors climbed over the camp walls, while the elders and queens exited through the dirt place. When they reached the border, the wolves were after them. How are we supposed to run away from that many wolves? Owlstar saw Sunstrike try to get one of the elders to move. “Don’t waste your life trying to save me! I’m already at the edge of life!” The elder yowled. “No! You must go on! I-I could carry you!” Sunstrike said. A wolf grabbed the elder’s tail and ripped his pelt. Sunstrike stared in horror. But he kept going in spite of his instincts telling him to go back. The clan ran through the forest. Owlstar did not dare to look back at the wolves. He could just imagine their amber eyes gleaming, hoping to sink their teeth into every cat’s flesh. Owlstar saw one of his clanmates get pulled back by the wolves. “Hawkwing!!” He yelled in agony as his deputy, and brother, got pulled deeper in the pack. “We must keep going.” Owlstar heard Sunstrike say from in front of him. They kept running. Owlstar started to slow down. His paws felt like rocks. As he slowed down, he saw a flash of grey. The wolves have caught up! He tried to run. He ended up turning to face the wolf instead. It’s amber eyes stared straight at him. The wolf went for the kill. Owlstar jumped out of the way just to be bit by another. The other wolf flung him behind the group. Fernswallow ran around the wolves with the warriors who were carrying her kits. No wolves followed. “Owlstar! Please say that you are ok! You can’t lose your last life! Leafclan depends on you!” Fernswallow yowled. The warriors put down the kits next to them. Their eyes opened. “I will take care of your kits.” Sunstrike offered. Owlstar knew how Sunstrike and Fernswallow loved each other, but not as strong as Owlstar’s connection with the she-cat. Tears poured from Fernswallow’s eyes. “I need you.” “Fernswallow, there is no Leafclan anymore. I have served for long enough, and I’ve got to see my kits open their eyes. That’s all I need.” Owlstar meowed. The sound of the howls did destroy the leaf. “I will see you in many dreams to come…” he choked on each word. “No, no, no…” Fernswallow choked out. With one final breath Owlstar squeeze out "Goodbye Fernswallow..." Then he closed his eyes. Forever. That night it rained like no other. Owlstar wept and his tears fell from Starclan as a final good-bye from Owlstar as he could only watch what transpired, helpless, and powerless, thinking he could do nothing. When in fact he had done enough already. Owlstar’s final farwell had given just enough water to Fernswallow and the kits to get up and stumble down the winding road ahead of them.
