Students will click the start button, from here they will answer the question- 9+5= ?. If they answer the question correctly the soccer ball will go into the net and move them onto the next question. Before the second addition question (4+13= ?) pops up, it will tell students to click the down arrow key. Again, if students answer this question correctly, they will move onto the third question. For the third question (9+10= ?) they have to press the space key before starting the problem. If students answer this question correctly, they will move on to the final question (8+3= ?). If students answer any of the addition problems incorrectly, they will try again and press the designated key for each of the problems, in this order- start key, down arrow key, space key, and lastly the letter A key. Make sure students follow each direction. Enjoy!
2.0A.B.2: Operations& Algebraic Thinking. Add and subtract within 20. Fluently add and subtract within 20, using mental strategies. By the end of grade 2 know from memory all sums of two one- digit numbers. This soccer math game is great for second graders, because it allows them to practice more challenging addition problems while also playing a fun, interactive soccer game! Although, the numbers in each word problem are less than 20, students will still gain knowledge from adding two- digit numbers. Besides addition, students will also learn more about scratch and which keys to press that go along with my game.
