Name: Speckledrose Age: 16 moons Rank: Medicine cat Speckledpaw sighed as she collected the herbs she dropped. A cold nose prodded her. She looked up and screamed at the slender red figure. It was a fox! "Wait!" He cried as she ran, and leaping in front of her said, " I won't hurt you!" "Y-you speak cat?" Speckledpaw whispered. "I'm not a fox!" The red tom laughed. His laugh was soft, like rain pattering against the leaves, "My name is Foxfur." "O-oh," Speckledpaw sighed with relief, "I'm Speckledpaw. But you're not from my clan! What are you doing on my territory?!" "I'm not a clan cat anymore..." He replied, "Nor do I ever want to be again." "Why not? WAIT. That means your a rogue!" Speckledpaw growled. "I don't refer to myself as a rogue, more like..." Foxfur thought for a while, " a loner." "Well my clan mates aren't as passive as I am, so you better leave." "Wait! Can you meet me again tonight?" The red cat asked," I get lonely..." Speckledpaw looked at the half moon rising in the sky and winced. "I'm sorry. I have to go to the medicine cat meeting tonight," She replied, "But we can meet tomorrow night," She added hastily. "Oh, your a medicine cat?" Foxfur asked with the slightest bit of disappointment, "Sure, lets meet tomorrow..." He added with the disappointment lingering in his blue eyes. Speckledpaw nodded and dashed to her camp right into the medicine den and crashed into Snowbelly, her mentor. "Look who's in a rush. And why are you blushing?" He asked sternly. Speckledpaw realized her cheeks were burning and said, "I'm sorry, Snowbelly! I was out collecting herbs and I didn't realize how late it was." "It's alright," Snowbelly replied in a softer tone, "Come on, we're late." Sunclan's medicine cat had already made it to the moon tree when they arrived. Snowbelly nodded at her and turned to face Speckledpaw. "I ask Starclan to look down upon this young apprentice. She has trained hard in your ways. Speckledpaw, will you follow the medicine cat code, even at the cost of your life?" "I do!" She squealed "Then, by the power of Starclan, you shall be known as Speckledrose!" Snowbelly said proudly. The first thing Speckledrose wanted to do was tell Foxfur, and it dawned on her, she was not following the code. She was in love. .:To be continued!!:.
