Space as always :D FAN FICTION IDEAS (HARRY POTTER): https://www.quotev.com/story/5533742/This-Is-It https://www.quotev.com/story/6037705/Another-Granger-Harry-Potter-story ( - @hbunny ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Press space to read my entry! I changed the coding a tiny bit so it would skip past the rules and go straight to my entry. Note - I did my very best on sizing the text correctly, but it might still be a tad wonky in places, so don't look too closely. xD Also, I indented the paragraphs within the text editor by double-spacing before each paragraph since the tab button doesn't work in Scratch for some reason. So, ah, sorry if I get points taken off for that, I tried. (- @Whovian-Pegasister )
I have so many things to credit! Of course, Wings of Fire is owned by Tui T. Sutherland and Scholastic. I don't claim it as my own at all. This is purely a piece of fanfiction (which we are allowed to post on Scratch because of free use). Thank you to @Novakitty for hosting the FBC camp and @hbunny for hosting this competition! :D Thanks to @Grumpylock for helping me with ideas. I ended up going with the Pyrrhian history/mythology idea - I'd like to think this is a RainWing folktale. (Go follow them! They're the real star when it comes to writing, not me.) (Also, if you don't get the ending, Kinkajou was reading the story and adding her own twist on it. Moon disagrees, and like any good fan, points out that that's not what happened in the book, explaining that there's a moral. This happens at JMA sometime during Moon Rising.) I was also inspired by a few things - Mango's life was inspired by The Jungle Book and Tarzan, and those books (not crediting Disney because I meant the books in general, not the movies) are by Rudyard Kipling and Edgar Rice Burroughs. (Can I just say how much I love The Jungle Book? I've actually read it, and I fell in love with the wolves because I'm nuts for books with wolves in them. Then when the Disney's re-make added in more with the wolves and more references to the original book than the cartoon, I was thrilled. But the cartoon has a place in my heart, too, as I grew up with it.) Finally, everything going chaotic at the end and seeming unrelated to the actual story is a small reference to the Martha Speaks episode with Jack Prelutsky. (In it, TD was writing a poem for class about life as a dog ... and then the end broke the rhyme scheme, threw the plot out the window, and all in all was completely unrelated to life as a dog. ((It involved everyone being abducted by aliens and being transported to a different dimension, as everyone regressed into cavemen, if I remember correctly.))) If you've read this far down, know that 'Mango' is a deliberately horrible name for a RainWing and is purposely bad. Would you really expect a monkey to give a child a proper name? xDDD (Also also, Mango can understand the animals because she grew up with them. It's the only real language she's ever known since she hasn't lived among dragon kind.)
