Mareoccisor rex (It's name meaning Sea killer king) is a descendant of the sea-faring ground sloth Thalassocnus yaucensis, also known as 'The Parodoxical Sloth' and 'Water Bears', unlike it's ancestors the Ground Slothes, it is a fast and deadly omnivorous hypercarnivore, having convergently evolved along the same lines as the whales that dominated the oceans for millions of years. One comparison that could be tied to these sea-faring slothes is that they're like bears: They're omnivores, are mainly found in one hemisphere only and are widely known as creatures that look cuddly yet will tear you a new one if provoked. The diets of these mammals is highly varied, with groups of these massive Xenarthans foraging for Sea grass, cruising the oceans for Sargassum seaweed and ganging up on whales and other large creatures of the deep. Uniquely, they are also surprisingly fast, which is why they're known as Paradoxes amongst their family tree. The first recorded sighting of these massive sloths was in, of all places, New Zealand, where a massive group of them hunted down a lone Bull Orca.
