Fun Facts: *Lava is melted rock above Earth's surface. *Magma is melted rock below Earth's surface. *Organic Sedimentary looks like a compaction of shells and fossils. It looks like a clump of oatmeal! *Chemical Sedimentary looks crystalline because the process of making it is related to water! *If a metamorphic rock has a high level of heat and pressure, it will gain much more visible parallel bands on it. *Intrusive Igneous is formed when magma cools, because it forms underground, whereas Extrusive Igneous (like obsidian) forms when lava cools on the Earth's surface. *Extrusive has a much smoother and fine-grained texture than Intrusive because it cools much quicker having air all around it. *Sediments are small rocks, fossil or mineral fragments. *Sedimentary rocks take up about 75% percent of the rocks on the *Earth's surface, a bigger percentage than the amount of space on the Earth's surface water takes up (which is about 70%)! I hope you enjoy!
