Click the green flag to start the boot up of the menu. Click on start at the bottom of the screen to get directed to the primary menu. At the menu, the arrows change the selected icon, and space presses it. For the quiz, you must click on yes or no. Right Arrow moves, Up Arrow jumps, avoid obstacles and more importantly RED. And avoid cheating. To find unlockable character sets, just keep playing until you get a notation saying congratulations - you unlocked a code.
