Yay, the first project I've uploaded on this account! For the past few months I've been working on this for my provinces coding competition so I hope you enjoy this simple, yet useful, project! There are also two easter eggs in this project, one on the menu and one that is in one of the generators! Any bug reports are welcome! (You can also use the space bar on any of the generators!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ INSTRUCTIONS (probably not necessary to read): -Click on the buttons on screen to use each generator! -Random Palette Generator: When you click on it you will get two options, random colour palette or random hexadecimal palette. The random colour palette gives you three random colours that you can screenshot to use in an art program or whatever you like. The random hexadecimal palette will give you three random hexadecimal numbers that can be used in coding and other things (here's a great site for decoding them https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_picker.asp) -Random Animal Generator: This generator allows you to generate 1-4 random animals. You can click on the numbers in the bottom-left corner to change how many animals you want to generate. -Random Object Generator: This one works the same as the random animals generator but it generates random objects instead. -Random Scenario Generator: This just generates a silly scenario that you can draw or write about. -Random Original Species Idea Generator: This generator gives you an animal to make your main base off of, an animal's elements to add to it, as well as a theme for it. -Random Original Character Generator: This generator gives you the species of your character, the first trait you notice about them, a trait that you notice once you get to know them and an optional theme as well! Also in the top-right corner there is an options button that you can use to toggle what species your character can be, and wether or not you want a theme (also if you've read this far this is where one of the easter eggs are). -Random Creature Base Generator: This generator randomly generates a base that you can use to create your own unique creature! -Random Plot Generator: This one generates a who, what, and when to help you create a plot for a story! -Random Name Generator: The generator has three options, a random generic name generator, a random name masher, and a random nature name generator. The generic name generator allows you to get names that you would hear in everyday life. The name masher gets random prefixes and suffixes and mashes them together into a wacky, unique name. Finally the nature name generator gives you names based on things in nature, so it's useful for animal characters. You can generate 1-4 names in each generator and in the generic and nature generators, you can choose wether you want male names, female names, both, or neutral names buy using the buttons in the top-left corner. -Random Landscape Description Generator: It generates a random landscape description. -Random Currency Idea Generator: It generates a unique fictional currency name by using random prefixes and suffixes mashed together. It also gives you it's fictional equivalent in USD (United States Dollars). -Random Drawing Challenge Generator: It generates a random drawing challenge. -Random Writing Prompt Generator: Generates a random writing prompt. -Random Generator: Sends you to a random, random generator.
Design brief (for coding competition): The purpose of this project is to help artists and writers when they are lacking ideas. These generators can help with nearly any problem, whether it be plot, characters, colours, or other things. I started this project earlier this year when I was feeling a lack of creativity and need something to help. It was originally going to have only three generators; the random palette, object and animal generator, and it was going to be for my own purposes, but I kept adding more and more so decided to make it my main task. I then added the rest of the first page in and soon added in the second page in because I had the time. For some of these generators, I looked at some other ones online and took note of what things I liked and/or disliked about them so I had an idea of how to make mine. I also had some help from one of my friends, (I won't put her name for privacy reasons), on how to design the original character generator, because she has a better understanding on character creation than I do.
