Curated September 13/14 by @sfjasmined I shared this early :P HAPPY 68TH BIRTHDAY, MERYL STREEP (June 22, 2017) Soooooooo… it's safe to say that I have drawn lots of pictures of Meryl Streep. So here, I've compiled all the portraits of her that I've drawn, in (I think) the order I drew them in. I've definitely improved. I could hear everyone go "Oh no. Meryl Streep art. Again." But whatever. (high five if you get the 'I could hear everyone/But whatever' Meryl Streep Academy Award reference) So yeah Happy birthday Lol she'll never see this anyways but whatevs (@ceebee's birthday is on June 22 too, so make sure to wish them a happy birthday as well!)
1. First drawing of Meryl I did. Ref pic was from a Rome film premiere of Florence Foster Jenkins. WHY DOES SHE LOOK LIKE A SHARK IN THIS. Lol I remember being really proud of it when I first drew it. 2. Meryl as The Witch in Into The Woods. I remember being proud of this too. But ugh. The facial proportions are off, and I didn't know how to shade very well. 3. Meryl as Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. I should redo this one. I like how the hand turned out, though. 4. Meryl as Julia Child in Julie & Julia. I love this movie so much. The missing rectangle is because my signature was there. Her face, hair, and hand turned out weird, but I like how the clothes turned out. :P 5. Meryl as Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia!. This probably looks the most like the ref pic out of any Meryl portraits I've done. But the proportions are kind of off, and I colored her hair too dark. 6. Meryl as Florence Foster Jenkins in Florence Foster Jenkins. The proportions are really weird in this drawing, and there's so much to criticize, that I'm just gonna move on… 7. Meryl at the 2012 Academy Awards after she won for The Iron Lady. I like how this one turned out. 8. Meryl as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. I didn't make the hair dark enough, so there's not much definition between face and hair. And the paper wrinkled so there's random creases and lines. 9. Meryl as Joanna Kramer in Kramer VS Kramer. I like this drawing. But I remember that it didn't look much like the reference picture. It looks good by itself, though. 10. Redraw of number 1. It looks much better in person. And it looks less like a shark than number 1. 11. Meryl in a photo from The Seduction of Joe Tynan. I was looking for a nice black and white pic to draw. Anyways. I like this one too, but I can never get the proportions right. I always make the nose too long or the forehead too large. (Or both). But this one looks fairly similar to the ref, I think? The nose is off, though, and I know it. Anyways… happy birthday Meryl Streep. :P
