The Himalayan mountain range has the highest peaks (mount Everest) and fifty others reaching over 7200 metres. It is northwest of the karakoaram , and hindu kush ranges. The ranges go through India, Nepal, Bhutan, China and Pakistan. It is home to 600 million people. Many peaks are sacred in Hindu religions. It was formed when the Indian tectonic plate crashed into the Eurasian tectonic plate.
