~ HISTORY ~ Over 300 years ago, one massive expanse of land acted as home to three races - Varealians, Echoes, and Humanoids. Varealians were a much more reptilian based race, made up of mostly dragons, raptors, and wyverns. While echoes made up much more of the population than Varealians did, their race varying from the smallest mouse to the greatest grizzly bear. And finally was the humanoids, centaurs, sirens, and harpies lived in this race along with normal, magic-less humans. These humanoids made up the least of the population. These three races had agreed to live together in peace, sharing goods and materials. However, as time grew on, the once peaceful and civilized races slowly became greedy, their jealousy and pettiness growing more and more with each coming year. The humanoids, living closer to the Varealians, found value in the strong scale coverings and incredible, mighty horns, wings, and other features that these reptilians had. The humanoids attacked the Varealians, though being superior in both number and strength, the Varealians managed to crush the human race to extinction within a matter of a few months, doing nothing but battling each and every humanoid to the death during these months. Echoes had found promise in the humanoids, and were furious when they went extinct. Led by a strong phoenix known as queen Fiona and her second in command, a dragon named as Midnight, the echoes declared war against the Varealians. Unlike it did with the humanoids, this terrified them. The Echoes were much stronger in numbers, loyalty to one another, and magical ability than the Varealians were. However they didn't stand down. The race of reptilians shot into battle with as many armed forces as possible without hesitation, determined to defend their sacred land. This battle lasted 20 years, and was forever known as the 'Falling Age'. During the 20th year, Queen fiona and her most professional engineers and mages crafted a sacred gem known as the 'echo eye'. They had attempted to use it as a major source of magic, however it was too powerful for even the Queen to possess alone. It was then split into 9 different pieces known as the amulets. Each amulet had it's own element, and could only be used by Echoes. Every amulet found and connected to a user they deemed worthy, and the power insdie of them was harnassed to fight. The battle finally ended when the element of earth, one of the most selfish elements, selflessy gave themselves up to use their element to split the battlefield, killing them in the process. Echoes immediately retreated to their own island, while Varealians found their own half as well. The two massive pieces of land began to seperate, drifting away from each other. The ocean then served as the barrier between the two islands, for war to end and each race to keep to themselves. After the war had finally completed, echoes suddenly began to realize. The amulets were gone. Far in the future, on the island of echoes, Queen fiona was dead and had only left her comrade, Midnight, to figure out if she was going to be queen, and she did, how she would rule. During this time, Slade, a dragon who wished nothing more than to claim the throne himself. He had murdered his younger sister, Silver, who had worked as a guardian and 'mother' to a much younger fox-like echo named Alysa, who midnight claimed to be the chosen one for the throne. Midnight, Slade's older sister, was furious. Even though she attempted to warn slade of his consequences many times, he continued to fight for the throne, leaving Alysa on her own and losing any possibility she had to one day become queen. As the draconic syblings were fighting, a magical force suddenly erupted from the island- to this day echoes can only guess where it came from. After years upon years of living in peace, the islands began to shatter once more. The magical force had been so powerful it had reached the Varealian's island as well, causing both islands to rumble and crack. That's when they began to sink. Water was flooding every home and marketplace on the island without anything either race could do about it. After a few attempts to stop the water, the creatures gave up, and began to flee. Midnight managed to reason with the Varealians just long enough to guide them to a massive island that a group of guards had explored in the past, with plentiful resources and many places for each civilian to stay. It didn't take long for the islands to empty themselves out, rushing as fast as they could using wings, magical abilities, portals, and allies with such powers to reach the new island, planning that once everyone had arrived, they would discuss territories. Few echoes and Varealians were left on the islands, saying as they now has a superior knowledge of magic and ancient technology than they had before. However, one extremely notable dragon had been left in the royal dungeon, left to drown with no escape. Slade.
