1. Students should be given a list of sample situations with numbers that will “work” (divide evenly) to solve in their scripts. Examples include: "The monkey collected 15 bananas yesterday, 10 today, and has 5 friends" or "The monkey collected 4 bananas yesterday, 6 today, and has 2 friends." 2. Students should write out a mathematical expression (with parenthesis) that will answer the question, if the monkey wants to divide its bananas equally among its friends, how many can the monkey give to each friend? 3. Finally, students should drag the "add" "start" and "divide by" blocks in the order that will correctly solve the problem. These blocks should be added after the "intro" block that they are under, and before the "check answer" block.
Overview: Students will practice order of operations in division story problems and practice ordering blocks to solve programming problems correctly.
