Here ya go: In a book, you expect the most mysterious, strange, or different one to be untrustworthy, angry, and strong. But this story is like no other. These two criminals of the city Larshire were nice people, well, at least Omotanwa was. But I wonder, how did they become such delinquents? Philomena was the person everyone knew, and hated. She was different than everyone, she was human. The weakest, rarest race, but she grew up strong. Most people in the city were Oitram or Avlern, though Omotanwa was another rare species, an Eplyl. Oitrams were like humans, but they were based off of animals. They were weak, but stronger than humans. Usually they are merchants that travel to sell their goods. Avlerns were big creatures that were either green, blue, or red. They had sharp teeth and were pretty strong. Eplyls were insanely strong, quick, and smart. They had grey, black, or white skin with feathered and torn up wings. They were guardians of the emperor, though Omotanwa was weak. He was useless to the kingdom, his city, everyone. He was weak as an Alvern, maybe even a human. Then there's humans. Weak, slow, and pointless. They would be executed at age 21, and they could do nothing about because they're just puny little humans. But Philomena was powerful. No one knew how she is, but this character was so interesting, and they let her live. Though most people wish they didn't. Omotanwa sat on the wooden bench reading his book that he just started and eventually spot the girl staring at him with an mad look on her face as always. She wore a purple long sleeved shirt with blue jeans. Her long, wavy, grayish-brown hair blew in the wind, dominating blue eyes shone with anger/ "What's with the tough look Philomena?" Omotanwa questioned. Philomena glared at him and says in a harsh tone,"Don't you remember? It's the night of fallen stars! We were gonna spend time together!" Omotanwa then recalled last week when she demanded he go with her to watch the stars fall and disappear. But he didn't say yes.... "Why don't you go with someone else?" He asked hoping not to make her mad. "The reason why I can't 'go with someone else' is because your my only friend! I thought you knew!" She hissed trying not to look sad. Omotanwa sighed, "Fine, if no one else wants to go with you...." He always wondered why he became Philomena's friend. She was rude, untrustworthy, and demanding. But even though she was like that, Omotanwa was her friend. But sometimes she can also be kind, yet she tries to hide the fact she is. Philomena grinned,"Great! But now, I have things to attend to. I'll see you later!" "Oh, and don't you dare try and back out of this. I will come over and punch you till you come!" She snapped. To be honest, her punches hurt. Omotanwa experienced it before, let's just say his arm got fractured. And during that time Philomena criticized him through all of it. It's not my fault, your the one who tempted me to, she would say. So, it was best to just go and get it over with. While waiting for Philomena to return, Omotanwa decided to walk around the town. He saw the usual, people walking the streets, merchants, people talking to eachother, and people that are just sitting or standing. Before he had another chance to think, a woman elf bumped into him. "Oh sorry sir! Your Mr.Omotanwa correct?" said the woman shaking a bit from embarrassment. He nodded, "Yes, why?" "The council needs to see you immediately!" she replied. Omotanwa sighed, what did they want now? He thanked the lady and after she left, he spread his grey wings and took off. After the 30 minutes of flying, he dropped to the ground. He stared at the heavily guarded building that stood before him. Walking to the giant front doors, two Eplyls pointed their spears at him. "Hult! Who may you be?" One of them asked. "I am Omotanwa, one of the Eplyls of Larshire" Omotanwa answered. "Ah, Omotanwa. The council has been expecting you. Please follow the main hallway and you'll reach their chamber" They let him pass and he walked through. He observed the hallway while his feel moved. The space was giant, like a castle. Windows spread across the walls, and a red carpet followed the trail of the corridor. Omotanwa reached the doors where two guards waited. They knew who he was, and they opened the entrance. While Omotanwa passed, one of the keepers whispered to him, "Good luck in there..." Omotanwa widened his eyes. He knew something bad was going to happen. And he could only think of one reason they sent him here. The doors slammed shut behind and the figures in white cloak stared at him. They all stood in a half circle while looks towards him. "Welcome Omotanwa." said the one in the middle. Omotamwa bowed to them. If you don't show signs of respect, you may as well be dead. "Why did you call me my commanders?" He asked even though everyone knew why. "We summoned you because you had failed at trying to find a use to yourself" said one men
(continued!) on the left. Omotanwa was right, and he wishes he wasn't. "If you don't find one by sunset, you will be executed at next dawn." Silence flooded the room until Omotanwa said in a fearful tone, "I-i understand." The big doors opened and he was free to leave. Oh man, how will Philomena react to this? He hoped she wouldn't get herself in trouble. Omotanwa left the building only two things on his mind. That he was going to die, and Philomena. Sure she was mean, but she was the only friend he had. He knows she cares about him deep inside her metal heart, right? Omotanwa kept walking as he thought. Did Philomena think of him as a friend or a puppet? Why was he weak? Why did people have to die just because they have no use in life? ---------------- That's chapter 1! This was an entry, but I think I'll make it a real series! Please tell me if you want more!
