Flick the cat to the top, or just make noise. Move your hand to aim the cannon (it won't be perfect, and will only work if nothing else in the background is moving). Press space to put the weird thing somewhere. Use your hand as a sort of pong paddle, and don't let it touch the corners, sky, or lava, or it will go away. (This part is actually a glitch that I'm not going to try to fix, so I turned it into a "game").
This was not intended to be cruel, but it is. I've found that it's easier to hit the ball with your head than your hand. Do not press 9. Look at the sprites.
