I've unshared almost nothing so that anyone who wants to can go back and see where I came from in terms of my writing, art, and coding. I think a lot of Scratchers want their account to be neat and tidy and only showcase their best work. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think it makes a person seem less real. If you can go back and see how long it took a person to get to where they are now it really puts things in perspective. It shows that you don't get good at something overnight, but more importantly, that it is possible to go from where you currently are to where that person currently is. Success is not unobtainable, it just requires a lot of hard work and practice. A lot of Scratchers are much better than I am in terms of art, but I thought I'd share this anyway just to show how far I have come in the last 6 or so years.
-ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʀʏ- Please excuse the lousy quality, Scratch murdered it. 1. I think this is a princess. I drew a lot of them when I was little. I'd guess this is from about 6 years ago, but I don't really know. 2. This is a mermaid, probably from about the same time. I was seriously obsessed with mermaids for the longest time. 3. I'd guess I drew this about 6 years ago? Maybe later. I remember that I was very proud of this particular piece for at least a year, probably more. Considering how much I drew when I was little and how fast I improved, that was a long time. 4. Flowers, probably from about 6 or 7 years ago. 5. "Layla the Light Fairy" from about the same time. I think I was planning to write a book about her. That never happened. 6. An unfinished drawing of Rapunzel from the same time. I guess I never got to her body. 7. An early dress design I made, probably 5 or 6 years ago. If you haven't guessed by now, pink was my favourite colour until a couple years ago. Unfortunately my room is still pink. 8. Pinky Pie belching fire. This is probably from 3 or 4 years ago, although it could be more. 9. Apparently I did draw a few cats when I was little. I think I drew this one before we got our current cat, so probably 7 years ago, maybe 8. Hopefully I've improved somewhat. 10. Oh, look, another cat. I have absolutely no memory of this one. It's obviously my current cat, though, and not in my original cat style, so I'd guess it's less than 5 years old. 11. This is a sunset I made with my watercolour pencil crayons. I'd guess it's from 3 or 4 years ago. 12. This is a fairy drawing I never finished. I'd guess it's from 3 or 4 years ago as well. 13. This was also made with watercolour pencil crayons at about the same time. 14. This is actual watercolour that I'm pretty sure is from 3 years ago. It's the main two characters in a book I was writing 3 years ago. 15. I think it was about 5 years ago that I started doing these "fashion designs" This is one of the first ones. 16. Here are some more "fashions". 17. I'm pretty sure the green one in the bottom left as well as the middle and bottom right were copied out of Thea Stilton books. Such plagiarism. I assure you that I have realized the errors in my path and stopped plagiarizing. 18. I think these are all my own. Wow, those waistlines. I really had no idea what a real human looked like. 19. I think the the left and middle dress at the top were also stolen from Thea Stilton. The bottom left one, though, I was super proud of. That one is my own design ... I think. 20-21. Two of many gravity defying and completely over the top gowns that I was so proud of. 22. I really have no idea what I was thinking. This one, though, I think is more recent. Maybe from 2 or 3 years ago? 23. This is a drawing from 2 or 3 years ago of Angelina's birthday from The Last Present by Wendy Mass. Willow Falls is a great book series, I highly recommend it. You've probably noticed by not that I pressed really lightly with both pencil and pencil crayon when I was little. Because of this there were a lot of drawing I couldn't include because they didn't show up. 24. An early landscape, perhaps from 5 or 6 years ago. 25. This one I actually remember drawing. I drew it while being babysat. That was a bad babysitter. She managed to burn our pizza pockets somehow so I had to make kraft dinner, which is super fake and delicious mac and cheese that can be made in the microwave. I'd guess this is from 3 or 4 years ago. 26. A human, probably from about 3 or 4 years ago. 27. A little pony named Joy. I think she's from about 4 years ago. 28-30. Her friends, Autumn, Marissa, and Lily. I know I wrote and illustrated a story about them, but I lost it. 31. Marissa, Lily, and Joy as humans. 32. A pastel drawing of a campfire that completely lacks perspective. I think this is from 3 years ago. 33. A girl, probably from 4 or 5 years ago. While she's pretty creepy and the anatomy is terrible, this is an example of some early shading attempts as well as me branching out and trying new mediums other than pencil and pencil crayons. 34-35. A reference sheet for Bluebell, a character in a story I was planning to write. I never wrote it. However, in this drawing you can see that Bluebell has hands. Prior to this my character's hands ended in stumps. I'm guessing this is from about 5 years ago. 36-37. A reference sheet for Sophie, another character in the story that never happened. 38. Another mermaid. There were a lot of them, but I couldn't find many. I'd guess she's from about 4 years ago. 39. One of my last fairies. I never finished this one, but it's a lot larger than the others. This drawing is a full page when most of my other fairy drawings were no more than 10cm tall. -ᴄʀᴇᴅɪᴛs- Art is 100% by .
