credit to @prettykitty367 Sorry if there's too much blood ~Story~ Graypaw stood with his eyes gleaming proudly, his mouse dangling from his jaws. His mentor, Jaystrike, rolled his eyes. ''You should show more respect for your prey, and don't be so proud that you were lucky enough to find a dead mouse!'' Graypaw dipped his head in embarrassment. ''Sorry," he muttered. But then he brightened up. "Let's go back to make it in time for my Warrior ceremony!" Jaystrike nodded. "Follow me." But Graypaw dashed ahead. "I know the way back to camp, mousebrain!" When he got to camp, Jaystrike on his heels, he saw that Spottedstar had already called a meeting. "There he is now!" she called. Graypaw's heart fluttered as he that saw Silverpaw, the love of his life, had also stepped forward. She was going to be a Warrior too! "It's time to make two new Warriors. Graypaw, Silverpaw, step forward. Do you promise to uphold and honor the Warrior Code and protect your Clan even with the cost of your life?" They nodded. "I do." they murmured. Graypaw could hardly keep the excitement out of his voice. "Then by the power of StarClan, I give you your Warrior names. Silverpaw, you will now be known as Silverfeather. And Graypaw, you will be known as-" Graypaw almost burst with excitment-"Graystone. Congratulations. Jaystrike, Yelloweyes,-" Yelloweyes was Silverfeather's mentor- "you have trained your apprentices well. Congrats to you two, too." Spottedstar stepped forward and laid her head on Silverfeather's and Graystone's heads. They licked her head in turn. "Thank you, Spottedstar." As the other cats went to their dens to sleep, Graystone and Silverfeather remained. The tradition was that when new Warriors were made, they had to guard their camp in silence that night. They took their posts and pressed against each-other for warmth. After what seemed like forever, dawn came. They started a conversation. Graystone padded toward the fresh-kill pile, motioning with his tail for Silverfeather to follow. He chose a water vole, and shared it with Silverfeather. When they finished, he gulped nervously. "Silverfeather, I.. I want to tell you something." She nodded. "I.. I love you." A smile grew on her Silverfeather's face, and she sighed, "I love you, too." Grayfeather's heart was about to explode with happiness and emotion. "Well... Will you be my mate, the cat that will forevermore come to my aid, the cat that will always be at my side, and... the cat that I will love forever?" Silverfeather's voice was hoarse with happiness. "Yes." ::THE NEXT DAY:: Grayfeather was patrolling with his mate along the ShadowClan border. (They live in ThunderClan.) The scent marks were stronger than usual. They nodded to each other, then started back toward camp. As they took the first few paw steps, a deep voice yowled, "Attack!" ShadowClan warriors burst through the brambles. The ThunderClan cats were badly outnumbered. There were dark shapes surrounding them; there was no escape. He was fighting as fiercely as a LionClan warrior. But as he looked over his shoulder, he saw that his mate was not. There were four muscular bodies on her. He spat with rage, and tore off the cats on top of him. He hurried over to see that it was too late. She had a scar on her hind leg, and was bleeding badly from a huge cut on her throat. She was breathing rapidly. As a large ThunderClan patrol raced in, the ShadowClan cats retreated into the darkness. He paid no attention to that. "Silverfeather! NOOO!" He whipped around to his Clanmates. "Fetch Owlfur, FAST!'' Owlfur was the ThunderClan Medicine Cat. Silverfeather managed to croak, ''It'll be no use. It will take too long." By now, Graystone's eyes were filled with tears. "Don't leave me. PLEASE don't die!" he pleaded, pressing his muzzle into her fur. "Graystone, stop. I'll always be with you..." the raspy voice faded away, and her eyes stared sightlessly at the sky. A ThunderClan warrior, Sunclaw, stepped forward. "She is in Silverpelt now." Graystone staggered to his paws, blinded by tears. "StarClan, let her hunt well in your hunting grounds. Take good care of her..." They carried her body back to camp, and every cat grieved for her that night. As Graystone grew older, and older, one day it was his time. And now, they both live peacefully together in StarClan. (lol cheesy) THE END
